Hi, since cooking is my hobby, I have decided to team up with Wefifo to host dinners at my home. Here are some of the review that I received.

About WEFIFO

WefiWefifo is a site that brings hosts and paying guests together via their site. It is a convenient site to advertise my events and there is a community of food lovers out there where they love to share and also try new food.

I do Malaysian Chinese Food. And as you might already know, in Malaysia we have Malay, Chinese and Indian food. On top of that we also have western food, eastern food, and whatever.

I only host on an average 1 event a month. I am now hosting some free taster tea sessions, too, so that more people around where I live will have a taste of what type of food I have to offer. Here are some reviews:

This was our first event and the Host made us most welcome (we were a bit early at their house) and the other 4 guests (that we did not know at all) were a good bunch as we had Great food and good conversation at the table. There was plenty of food and the Soup was Superb (best ever) and the Desert idea was novel and tasty.

Penang Hainanese Chicken Rice Dinner

Loretta was warm and welcoming, offering us some nibbles and a glass of juice while she made the finishing touches to the meal. She explained all the dishes that make up the Penang Hainanese chicken dinner, as well as the customs surrounding them. The food was nicely presented and very tasty – there were several things I had not eaten before so it was lovely to experience new flavours like the poached lettuce which had a delicious sauce! The atmosphere was relaxed and the conversation continued late into the evening. Loretta gave us all a parting gift of homemade chocolate treats which was really appreciated. Thank you Loretta for a lovely evening 🙂

Penang Hainanese Chicken Rice Dinner

The meal was fabulous – Loretta is a great host to match equally great food. The chicken was simply delicious, not to mention the fish balls and the brownie for dessert! A lot of love and preparation went into the evening – you can tell that Loretta is a born host who takes joy in cooking and hosting. Her witty personality and traditional food was a Saturday highlight, thank you 🙂

Afternoon Tea for Wefifo Newbies

Loretta was a lovely and very good host and I was made to feel very welcome. Each course of the Afternoon Tea was explained in detail with the ingredients content and how it was prepared/cooked, everything was tasty and new to my taste buds. A lovely introduction to Malaysian cuisine. Thank-you Loretta & hope to see you again soon.

Loretta & Caryn’s Chinese New Year Lunch

It was a lovely event in a homely athmosphere. (as in original text) .I had to attend with our 7-months old baby and the host Loretta was really helpful! There was plenty of food and a good variety. Caryn’s dish was also amazing! We also got to learn the customs to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Overall, it was a good experience. I would definitely recommend!

Loretta was so very welcoming and the perfect host from the minute we walked through the door we were made to feel at home and with friends. The Penang Hainanese Chicken Rice was to die for, I could have easily eaten my own body weight of it, it came with two dips and both of them were utterly delish – so much so that Loretta had to refill up the bowls twice! Loretta served a clear soup that was delicate, full of favour and like nothing I have ever tasted before. One of the vegetable side dishes was marinated lettuce – seriously this was a triumph – who knew that this humble vegetable could be expertly cooked in such a way. Dessert was a sublime chocolate and pistachio brownie, gooey and warm, served with fresh raspberries and ice cream. Please don’t miss the opportunity to let Loretta wow you with her skill, talent and stories of life growing up in Malaysia, a very enjoyable evening.

Penang Chicken Rice, lunch,
Chicken Rice! Penang’s favourite lunch. So is everywhere else’s favourite lunch in Malaysia. Succulent Roast Chicken in sauce and chilli dip. Yummy.
